Facebook API Change Affected Blogsy.July 12th, 2013 | Posted by in API Problems | Blogsy | Information | Update
Facebook recently changed some security settings which impacted their API. This has caused an issue with the Facebook integration in Blogsy.
What you will find is that when you upload images to Facebook with Blogsy (through either the direct method or the envelope method) the photos will not show up in the Blogsy Photos album until you approve them on the Facebook site.)
If you sign into your Facebook account you will see the photos in your “Your Photos” section but not in the Blogsy Photos album. This means you won’t be able to see the photos in the “Blogsy Photos” album in Blogsy either until you approve them on the Facebook site.
We have changed our programming in Blogsy to compensate for this Facebook API change so in the next update you will no longer have to approve the images on the Facebook site to get them into the Blogsy Photos album.
And just to be clear, none of this impacts your ability to add photos to your posts which will be uploaded to Facebook. The only thing this effects is getting these photos into the Blogsy Photos album on your Facebook account.
Here are some screenshots to show this.
Sign into your Facebook account then go Photos -> Albums -> Blogsy Photos -> Approve Photos
Until our next update comes out you will not be able to find the photos you uploaded until you approve them on Facebook. If you dragged the photos directly into your post and they were uploaded when you published they will still be in your post even if you don’t approve them on Facebook to be in the Blogsy Photos album.
Here you can see the photos getting uploaded to Facebook.
And here you can see that those photos are not showing in the Blogsy Photos album in the Facebook panel. If I go to Facebook and approve them then they will show in the album in Blogsy.
